Drive Train mystery

Greetings

I am not an owner or Model A fan, but my neighbor is. He has asked me to post his unique drive train problem here, since I told him similar forums for Ford Trucks (FTE) have been an invaluable source advice and encouragement to me. I've attached a lengthy document describing his steps, and having edited it for flow and clarity, removing the last names of people I'm not acquainted with. Please forgive the crowded text in the attachment, as I was at a loss as to how to get it all in under the forum limits.
