Default Hand brake brackets

The hand brake brackets do not appear to have any kind of bushing to ride on in relation the the cross shaft. The cross shaft I have is worn about two thousands into it from rubbing the past 90 years. I am not losing any sleep over it, but is there a fix of some sort, or does it not really matter?

No bushings - steel to steel contact but there is a corresponding hole in the frame rail with a small felt that is a lubrication point - .002 is negligible - .030 - .050 and you might be able to see that.
