Default Turtle question

I am checking the fit of a 39 torque tube in my AV8. I do not remember if the threaded end of the speedo drive points up or down. The green book was not clear to me. 37-41 are the same part number. I do not have a drive shaft installed to check gear fit.
Thanks,John

John, Are you speaking of the DRIVE gear or the DRIVEN gear? The so called "turtle" is the driven gear. The threaded part of that housing is installed facing down.

There is no such thing as a turtle, dizzy, tranny and so on on a ev8 these are terms for the butchers on the other forum that do not know how to read a parts book.

If that's the way you see it, then you might as well say that there's no such thing as a "flathead" Ford, nor a "banjo" rear end, either. DD

Since we're beatin' up words, my Dad gets on edge when the word "motor" is used in place of "engine". As long as I can remember, he's told my brothers and I.................it's an engine not a motor, motors are electric!

He's still building A's & V8's to this day.

Like gas vs gasoline. Gasoline is what most of our old cars run on. Not gas.
