OK,
I am sure this is answered somewhere here already, I couldnt find it so, I am looking for the motor mounts that fit a 292 that is in my new to me Model A Roadster, it had one in it from the 60s and it was blown so the guy I got it from dropped another on in it with a T-10 4 speed and it is strapped in waiting for me to put the right motor mounts in it, this is all it needs to get it back on the road, any suggestions? The Motor mount on the frame is level with the top of the frame and has a round hole in it, Any help is greatly appreciated, I will post some pictures as soon as I can, Thanks Last edited by tlwatson; 06-21-2014 at 12:38 AM. you are more likely to find that answer on the H.A.M.B. This site is for original cars.

I see he has already posted this question on HAMB.

I am definitely not trying to be a smart ass but I would suggest that if you are going to dabble with hot rods you learn to fabricate things. What you are asking is a 15 minute job to engineer and maybe 1 hour to make.
If you were within traveling distance I would gladly help you for nothing. |

You are going to have to fab the mounts there is not going to be a bolt in kit. I hope the frame is boxed that is a lot of weight for a stock frame.

![]() Thanks for the fab offer Pete, Todd, this was built in the 60s with a 292, there is some frame support done but not fully boxed, |

A mild SBC or SBF, driven sensibly, will not twist anything more than a torque monster A engine will, nor does it weigh considerably more than a stock Ford 4-banger. If memory serves me, the difference is about 50 lbs. The main problem with the SBC is the clearance of the distributor in regard to the firewall. It will have to be notched, at the very least. I once read an article about a fabricator turning it around (the center section of it), and it looked bone stock to anybody but the cognescenti.

Driven sensibly? Why put a v8 in it if your going to drive like an old man. I drive my model a because it makes me slow down and take my time and relax as opposed to driving a car like he is building and seening how much trouble I can get in. First thing in car building and engineering "when in doubt build it stout". Box the frame |

Whatever you come up with for mounts will want to sit on the 32-48 Ford front motor mount rubbers (used on the trans also). The mounts you have on the frame now look similar to the Hurst mounts. Good luck.
