Default valve tool ID

i bought this valve tool from a guy and he said it is for flathead v8's and can be used to compress springs to remove keepers as well as to remove guide/valve assembly. can anyone identify this tool as to manufacturer? i can't find any markings on it but it is in real good condition. i haven't seen one with the handle and ratchet type set up like this one. thanks for your help.

The throat on that looks too deep for a flathead? Getting the center cylinders might be tough. I wonder if it's for the 6-cylinders?

That works well for removing the valve Keepers, but will not work very well removing the valves. You must remove the gid keepers which requires several different style tools. One isthe famous Valve tool tha pulls the guide down to remove the keeper. The other is a "C" style hook that pulls the guide keeper out, but usually wrecks it in the process. However, on the 8BA blocks you can just drive the guid down and remove the keeper.
Now I'm confused.

36 flathead-----does yours have any name, mfr, etc.. on it?

ross-----you left your turn signal on. it may well be for the model a or 6 banger, will know soon though.

ol ron----the guy said just turn the tool upside down and it will push the valve assy up and out. i will know soon enough, i have 2 early flatties to tear down.

thanks a lot guys.......geoge

Hi f1builder; I have a similar valve assembly compressor. It's casted and was made by Stevens-Walden Worcester Inc.. I don't see how it would make a good assembly remover because the plunger is centered over the valve. Good luck, Craig.
