I came across this photo. Does anyone know what carb and manifold we have here? There doesn't seem to be a fuel pump. How does this compare to the often used Weber carb setup?

It appears to be a V8 style carb possibly model 94-59-48. It doesn't really compare to a Weber. They are both two barrel carbs but the Weber is a progressive two barrel that has the ability to cut in like a four barrel.

Its a Holley (or Ford which manufactured some of the same carbs), or, possibly a Chandler Grove which made the 1938 models, all used on the flathead V8s. The venturi size is embossed on the rear, could be "81" or "94". Or, unlikely, "1" or "1 1/16" which were used on the 1954 and 1955-57 OHV V8s. An "81" is the Holley Model 92, a replacement for the Stromberg 81. The "94" replaced the Stromberg 97. The Model # or letter identification should be embossed on the fuel bowl side that is not visible in the photo. That will give a better idea the years it was used.

The manifold in a Scolded Dog, this looks like my set up and from the choke leakage I'd say the carb is a 94 8ba made from 1949 to about 1953. I use a fuel pump.

Could have a fuel pump behind the firewall to give the illusion of no pump.
