The attached photos were scanned from the Nov/Dec 1965 Antique Automobile. They were part of a four page article on a 1931 Glaser imported to the US from Denmark in 1965. It was a three owner car. The first owner ordered the car from Glaser in 1930 it was delivered mid '31 he sold it in Aug. '32, and kept it till 1963. Original engine / chassis number was A3957780. The car was fitted with 16 inch Firestone Air Balloon wheels from new. The frame and engine were painted by Glaser, and the cars' colours are pearl white and grey, with blue trim. It states in the article that Glaser built only fifty cars on A chassis. "All were different - not merely different in detail work, but in the basic designs. Especially worth noting are the headlights, bumpers, intergral trunk, windshield frame, wood and leather interior, and the doors which drop down over the frame."

Here are a couple more pics of the Gaser cabriolet. I failed to mention in the last post that the Nov.Dec 1965 Antique Automobile also contains a very detailed 14 page article on the Glaser company. I have scanned the article, if you are interested just PM me and I will send you a copy.

![]() Joop, Thanks for posting this photo from my collection. Frau Heymann's car is a Habsburg (note the Habsburg manufacturer's plate on the splash apron below the door hinges). This photo was taken when she met up with, and escorted, a small group of Ford commercial vehicles that toured Germany in 1930 as an advertising event for Ford commercial vehicles and chassis. You'll note the AA in the background carrying a boom advertising Ford commercial chassis. This photo was taken somewhere near Ulm, Germany. Fordially, Brad in Maryland |

A friend just found this photo (drawing). Found in the old archives from the Danish Ford dealer: Fehr & Co. See the text - Yes A Ford Model A with Amdi Budd body. Are there some who have seen this pictures before? Regards Thomas |

A couple of the photos taken at the Ford meeting show a white table top game. Is that curling? Looks like a fun game.

I was lucky enough to be in Denmark about 12 years ago when this annual tour was going on and got to attend the entire day with some local members in their Model A. Great food and beer. The hospitality was great and there were a number of great Model A's there.

Yes, this was a photo taken to advertise Ambi-Budd Presswerk all steel bodies and showed up in at least one of their advertising fliers of the day as well as on this postcard. I vaguely remember seeing it also in an Ambi-Budd advertisement in "Ford Im Bild". Ambi-Budd also made taxi bodies for Ford in Germany - often referred to as the Ford Landaulet taxi. How much more expensive were these new as compared to factory cars? How many were built over the years?
I always figured that custom coach work was for the upper price range marques, but this seems to be "mass customization". Relatively high volume for coach built, but moderate price?

Custom coach Work....
I believe, that the are only built a small number. Price 3-4 time more - I think ... One might joke about - who would pay more money for such a custom coach work on a Ford chassis? And yet more German “Karosseriehersteller” built this German convertible on model A chassis! I believe that there have been about 5-6 “Karosseriehersteller” which have made these types of German convertible ... it is believed that Glaser has built around 50 - but not with the same at body - maybe small series of 10 identical? I do not know .... Regards Thomas |

Two photos - one that is sure 100% is a Glaser 1930
And one that almost certainly is a Glaser ... 1931 the first photo is a built in 1930 - the second in 1931 Who would believe it? |
