Default Other names for Ford parts...

Over the years, other names for Ford parts (and other car's parts) have other names attached to them. Such as:

Model A: A Bone, A Model, 4-Banger...
400-A: A-400...
Spindle Bolts: King Pins...
Open Cab Pickup: Roadster Pickup...

and so on.

What other parts or items can you come up with that have a different name other than what Ford attached to them originally.

You Model A'ers from Down Under have unique names for items also in comparison to the USA names...what would they be?

Are you speaking of Ford's nomenclature vs. what hobbyist call parts?

Town sedans are often (erroneously) called town cars.
Also:
Windshield/windscreen, hood/bonnet, engine/mill, radiator shell/grille shell, dash panel/instrument panel

Restored/everything was painted

Geez, --let's see.........

Wishbone - Front Radius Rod
Backing Plates - Brake Housing Plate
Brake Actuators - Front Brake Shaft
Shackles - Spring Hangers
Bumper - It IS called a Bumper in the front but Fender Guards in the rear.
Dash Panel - Belt Rail
PopOut - Ignition Switch
Emergency Brake - Hand Brake
Firewall - Dash Assy
Roof Bow - Rib
Header - Rail (Front)
SubRails - Sill
Headlights - Headlamp
Headlight Bar - Head lamp Support
Brake Light Switch - Stop light Switch
Radiator Apron - Front Splash Shield
Splash Aprons - Running Board Shield
Hood Latches - Hood Clips
Engine Block - Cylinder Case
Wrist Pin - Piston Pin

Sediment Bowl - Sediment Bulb
Bellhousing - Clutch Housing
Cluster Gear - Trans. Countershaft Gear
Banjo - Differential Housing
Timing Cover - Cylinder Cover

....and that's just what I come up with off the top of my head. We as hobbyists really butcher those and I really work hard at making my employees use the correct nomenclature.

Emergency Brake - Hand Brake
I hear that one often. However there is more to the story. In Ford's nomenclature that is true for early-mid 1928. after that the the brake pedal operated the service brakes and the hand brake lever operated the emergency brakes.

Great "quick list" however!!!
