Trying to mix and match parts from various motors. and coming up with more questions than answers

You need to give a little more description than "various" ---series wound, permanet magnet fields -----???, what use,---voltage

Trying to piece together a good motor for a power window.. Not sure of some of the terms you use.. These all have wound fields, and brushes. Some of the armatures have even numbered segments two others have odd numbered segments (11 to be exact)
The motor that was in the car has 12 segments and one of those shows high resistance.. I cant' find instructions on checking the odd numbered ones. That help or confuse?? |

the armature with 1 bar different resistance ---look close at wire connection to commutator, perhaps it cvan be fixed by re-soldering the wire ---sometimes with damaged wire I have put in a small piece of wire to fix The resistance measurements will be quite low, in the range that many meters have trouble with accurate readings ----none should have resistance between the steel shaft and the copper parts (sometimes if there is cleaning with electrical solvent can fix some shorts) Series wound---- one of the power wires connects to field windings ---then other field winding connects to brush, other brush connects to power(one ppower to +, othewr popwer to - if DC post some pictures of the pieces |
