Default 31 roadster dash rail

Is there a difference between an early 31 and a late 31(indented firewall) dash rail for a roadster? Thanks

No same dash rail from 1930 thru 31 only the early dash rails take a different bolt size.

I'm really interested to see if there is a way to remove the dash rail on a '31 Roadster...

OK ,, Karasmer..... we talking dash rail which Raven is asking the question on removal or what i think you mean a BELT RAIL ???which is what i described. A dash rail is behind/underneath the BELT RAIL...Belt rail is what is under your windshield held by a small pan head like screw at both ends / 5 dome head screws /9 bolts and washers .

Slight difference in 30 &31 in that the 31 has a notch in the front lower edge. That is to allow the different dash light. The 30 has the light in the plated panel. Not much.
Btw belt rail is most often used to denote the/a rail around the back such as a cabriolet
Tomatoe tomato
Imho

No I was talking about the dash rail, I came across a 30/31 roadster cowl for sale has indented firewall but the dash rail does not look right.

^^^^ That is a COMMERCIAL COWL, not a Roadster Cowl although Hot Rodders do use them with Du Vall style V windsheilds. Dash rail, under rail and brackets that replace the Roadster lower Stantion mounts atre all different. GREAT FIND! Bob

Sure there is value to someone looking for one! The "dash rail" on that is worth the same/more as the rest of the cowl. I see those from $250-400 for total as pictured.Imho
