Default Questions about turn signals

I am converting cowl lights to turn signals on '29 Fordor. I bought the kit from Snyder's to convert cowl lights to turn signals that consisted of a new reflector bulb and yellow and red bulb wires and a ground. The bulb is clear.

(1.) The turn signal diagram shows one wire to the turn signal. Is the yellow or red a ground? Why is there also a ground from the reflector base?

(2.) The turn signal bulb is clear as is my lens. They sell amber lens for 30-31 but not for 29. Can I buy 6 volt amber bulbs 21 cp or better. Didn't see them. There used to be little bottles of amber bulb or lens paint you could buy. Is it still available?

(3.) I bought the LED tail lights for the rear and again they have two wires, black and green. The diagram shows one wire connecting the two lights. I assume one wire is the ground...green or black?

You have a dual filament bulb. The yellow and red are seperate 'hot' for each filament. I don't know exactly which bulb you have, but if one filament is heavier (brighter) then that lead(yellow or red) is the turn signal feed. Connect the other to the cowl feed from your light switch. Remember to connect the ground wire too!

Try a craft supply store. Ask for stained glass paint. I have a bottle of red & yellow. I mix a few drops to get the amber color I want.

Nice thing about LED's- they are diodes and if you connect them backwards- NO DAMAGE. They just don't light. Try the leads across a battery to determine which is the negative and which is positive. Depending on your car (+ or - ground ??) connect appropriately.
