I am rebuilding my 30 Tudor and would like to install seat adjusters since the 30 Tudors did not have any. I have read prior posts regarding the seat adjuster kit that the vendors sell (Snyder’s PN A-47904). From what I have read, by installing this kit I will add only 2 inches of adjustment.
I have not found any description of how much adjustment I can get if I install the standard saw tooth adjustor that is in the ’31 Deluxe Tudor (Snyder’s PN A-70124). Does anyone know how much adjustment is available using the original saw tooth type adjuster? I understand that by installing these that the seats will not pivot any longer. Is there any difference in the adjustment available using the saw tooth vs the screw type (Snyder’s PN A-47832-S) seat adjuster? Thanks, Mark |

Mark, I am going to assume you already know about reversing the direction of the original stand to gain room. While I do not have two side-by-side to compare, I am not so sure that you can gain any appreciable room with the DeLuxe slider. I think the major difference was with the style you have now, you had two adjustments, and with the "sawtooth" adjuster, you gain about 6 or 7 more in between what you already have.
Personally, I think the only thing that will make you feel good about this is to place the seat in a comfortable position on blocks, and then fab up two new brakets that can safely mount it where you have temporarily placed it. |

Hey Brent,
I do not have any adjusters at this point, just looking for one that gives the most adjustment possible. I do understand about reversing the original stands, but I am trying to make this car so that anyone can drive it and be comfortable (for example, me - 6', son in law - 6'4", daughter - 5'6"). From what I understand, the "kit" has adjustment back and forth, and up and down, but 2 inches does not seem like very much for the money. The saw tooth is just back and forth. I do not understand what you mean by "you gain about 6 or 7 more in between what you already have". Thank you for your response, Mark |

Don: Mine is back about half as much as yours, now to make something to raise it a couple of inches. I'm 5'10" and need the extra room to get my feet (one hip replaced) in.
Lembomw: you might check the Speedway catalog as I think they make seat (adj) rails. Paul in CT |

Paul, looked at the Speedway Motors website. They do have universal seat mounting/ slider frame kits. Looks like I would just need to modify it a little to lower the frame. Both excellent leads. Thanks again, Mark |
