Default Windshield wiper motor

My wiper motor on my car was not connected when I bought it. The wires were cut up by the motor and their is a switch in the dash that the wires were also cut. There is a fuse block with a cut wire in the engine compartment, the other end from the fuse block goes to the engine compartment terminal block. I rewired everything and it works great. My question is if the wires are connected correctly for the postive ground system. The black wire coming out of the wiper motor is connected to ground inside the motor so I connected it to ground on one of the wiper motor mount bolts. The wire from the switch that is connected to the fuse panel is connected to the red wire coming out of the wiper motor. Does this sound correct. The motor will run either way.

Define "correct"!! I think you would agree that what you have is not all that correct. Since we (me) don't know which kind of wiper motor and I am not sure what the "fuse block" or the "fuse panel" is, I would do whatever you can do to make it operate. If you feel the wiring is safe and the unit works now, then treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a nice pat on the back for a job well done.

Thanks Brent. I guess I just don't have a good grasp of how the positive ground system on these cars work. I don't know what brand the wiper motor is, all I know is that the black wire coming out of the wiper motor is connected to the ground inside the motor and the red wire is suppose to be the hot wire. I guess as long as the black ground wire is connected to the chassis grouind and the red hot wire is connected to a 6 volt power source then it's correct. I guess the car being a positive ground system does not make any difference.

I agree with Brent. If it works----enjoy. The wiper motor I bought from Mike's would
work on either a pos or neg ground system (instructions were included) and I diddled
with it both ways until it worked. I fused it with a four amp fuse as specified by the
instructions. Fuses are cheap insurance, so no matter what you do, you can't hurt
your car too much, JMHO.

Think of it this way; The motor is working, so it must be correct. If it wasn't correct, it wouldn't be working.
