we had a nice relaxing tour around the town today, mostly i low gear and dirt roads,so only about 30 klms for the day.
on the oil change for the car,I bought some in town, but no oil filter, so wil just change the oil tomorow,
My typing woud be way better if my damm ipad worked properly , it i so slow to type and have to push letters realy hard, it makes for hard work.
Plus i now about my old ford, but modern stuff someties trys me out.
I have spent an hr on the ipad trying to get it sorted, maybe a new one is required.
Apple is good stuff but, its not like the old Ford in the long life stakes

some pics from today
Short story as ipad still RS
Big drive today,450 klm,but we had lots of sight seeing stops
I did the oil change between Diranbandi and Cunammulla at a gravel pit, while Cheryl caught up with some cross stitching.
At the last two fuel stops the only fuel availible wa 98, the engine seemed to go better.
We had booked our accomadation along the way this morning, lucky as the place was booked out whenwe checked in.
There was a new Tesla in front of us at the checkin, there was more rubber in one of his wheels than o our whole car.
rest day tomorrow, maybe i cn get an oil filter.

Glad you weren't involved in that truck accident! It also nice to hear stories of good service and helpful people too.

Thanks for sharing your travel log with us. I'm reminded of my time driving from Albany to Exmouth and also when I was in Alice Springs and Brisbane.

Pics from today,
A short drive today only 350 kilometres
From Charleville to Mitchell then injune via the back roads.
While stopped in Mitchell we saw a heavy recovery vehicle go by with one of the mangled trailers from yesterday's accident.
I had fixed an oil leak on the engine this morning, taking the oil pressure gauge sender and mechanical gauge fitting off and just using the mechanical gauge .
It looks dry after the days drive
We bottomed out in the rear a few times today, so slowed down a bit, mostly on culverts and flood ways , we got bucked out of the seat a few times, Cheryl joked we should be roped in😂
We are off to emerald tomorrow, then
Clermont, the Mackay, I will stop a few days before heading home to Gladstone
We're kicking back and watching the footy,Magic round in Brisbane

Today was realy cold ,4 C,no worries, car started right up.
Guy next to us in a VW 4wd had his bonnet open as a check eng light came on,no problems like that on the 34,
We headed off and once again saw a few roos, and emu,s,
taking another back road through the Arcadia valley, which is a large gas area.
We crossed a creak called Fainting chicken creak, we have been this way before n the 4,as its lovely drive.
Stopping in Roleston,a dutch couple touring Aus in a campervan told us there was some old cars on th road the way we are going, when asked what they were, all he could say was they hd real skinny tyres.
We caught up with them in Emerald
4 model Ts and 3model As,all towing camper trailers, they were heading to cape york,on a 2 month tour, one of the A,s was driven by a lady.
Lots of bugs and grasshoppers in the radiator today.
Good economy today at less tha12 lt per 100ks
We are in Clermont tomorrow
