Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful day to own a Ford.
1941 Ford Super Deluxe, with a 59AB motor. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of having this fitting break in two. Now I need a new one. The problem is that I have no idea what this fitting is, but I do know it's a combination fitting for the windshield wipers vacuum tube (windshield wipers hook up to the long tube) and for the vacuum distributor brake. The vacuum brake for the distributor runs from the distributor to this fitting and hooks up with a strange doughnut shaped connector that wraps around the base to the left side of the photo (that used to be threaded). I don't have a picture of the doughnut-shaped connector at the moment. I've searched and searched for a matching connector but I've only found items that are similar, but nothing that would take that doughnut connector. Either I'm not searching with the right wording or this connector doesn't exist anymore. Last edited by 41SupDelux; 11-20-2024 at 11:40 AM. |

You'll need to find a used one as they have never been reproduced. They are "out there" but not common.

It's called a "silencer" by Ford. P/N 11A-17595-A and you need 2 copper gaskets 91A-2149 which are available from most of the vendors. I may have an extra, I'll check.

A rubber tube goes from the silencer fitting to the wiper switch. The silencer is a good source of vacuum leaks too. |
