34 pu build: installed a left RED's header, tight but it fit perfectly in stock chassis. Specially made header for 33/34 stock chassis. Newc

The paint on my '35 is over 25 years old. While the car has been well kept, the paint is showing its age. I decided to try the clay bar treatment to remove surface contaminents and restore the smooth surface. Its a lot of work, so I did it over a 2 day period. After the clay bar, it got a coat of Griot's Best of Show wax. Its not a miracle cure for old paint, but it did make a noticable improvement to the paint and apoearance.

Still buying NOS 1942-48 Ford parts if they are priced within reason. Fan bearing assembly I got this week. Had one new in the box from my Ford dealership in Iowa that I used on the 42 coupe.

Went for a short ride Wednesday. Came home with a bad vibration in the drive line. Transmission seems to be ok. maybe the bearing in the torque tube, I never ends,
I love old cars. Will investigate after the Holiday.

I put one of those in my '32 pickup. It seems to do a good job. I'm happy with it.

my recently purchased '41 had just had a new starter installed before i had it hauled away to my storage area. and it has never turned the motor over very fast, and when warm, not at all. it sounded, to all the world, like it was binding to me.

the old one was in the trunk and so i tested it. it seemed to work, so i installed it yesterday (what a job!) and it's turning over like a champ now!

i'm guessing that the new one had been shimmed improperly...grrrr!

this is the very, very short story, BTW.

Same thing happened to me. A fresh rebuilt (from NAPA, no less) seemed to labor starting my car, so I installed one from my "stash" with an old tag on it that said "GOOD". I installed it (not much of a task since I have a lift), and it started quickly and easily.

BTW, I have never had to shim a flathead starter.

Installed the NOS rear door window regulators in my 32 Fordor and cleaned up some of the wiring mess under the dash.

I was out for a bike ride with my wife and she had a flat. She started walking, pushing her bike while I cycled back home, fired up the 41 pickup and went to pick her up. She commented on how useful it is to have an old pickup.
