I have a '35 Fordor hump sedan, and I've run across a few things that tells me it's an "Early" '35. My inner fenders are not louvered; the cowl is sans X at the side of the firewall. When did the changes occur, and are some parts more / less desirable / rarer than others due to it's "earliness"?
Thanks in advance. |

There "most likely" are a few "other" early details, the intake manifold and the inner louvered grill panel pictured are also tell tail "early" indicators., at The early 35 intake, at first glance looks like a 34 BUT there are a few differences...mainly the fuel pump stand opening is round and not diamond shape. Pictured are the two "main" early late intakes, then a early one by itself. The grill pan doesn't have the raised area around where the crank handle goes trough!!!

Assuming the engine and trans is no longer present - or has been replaced...... I was referring to the body (and frame, as there are early / late differences.

I believe the front door window mechanism would have have 8 mounting bolts on a "Late" 35.

The door handle is located well forward on earlier '35s with the window crank (6 bolt regulator) behind it. Sorry the the picture of the '35 door does not have the regulator installed; but the 6 mount holes and hole for the operator shaft should give you the idea.
Later the door handle was moved closer to the center of the door; but the window crank was left in the original location (still 6 bolt regulator) Not long after that the window crank (8 bolt regulator) was moved forward to better clear the door handle. |

Gauge face color might vary from early to late. Here is a pic of the early 35 Oil/Fuel gauge. The outer and center circle has darker graphics. From my experience later in the year it was silver/gray which carried over to 1936.
