Default Tailpipe lamp orientation

Folks, I'm working a bit blind because I haven't been able to find my Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards for several months.

What's the proper orientation of the tailpipe clamp to the frame? See attached.

Thanks.

There were 2 types - https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...3944&cat=41736
The image above looks like a repop clamp that is not the correct shape. The ad shows them in their proper orientation with the nut on the bottom of the frame.

So just to confirm: mount on top of the frame channel, with the tailpipe cheated upwards, bolt down from the top with the nut on the bottom (which is really the only way you’d get the cotter pin in?

Thanks folks. BTW, I can’t get into the Aries Muffler website, anyone else having that issue? Amuffler.com

Thanks, Y-B. I was going off a Google search, I’ll create a bookmark. This appears to be a new web host for him. I see Joe Davis periodically, I’ll ask him.

You only need to tighten the bolt until the ends of the clap just touch and cheek that you can still move the pipe. If it doesn't move, loosen the bolt until it does. Calling it a clamp can be misleading, calling it a support is a better description of what it does.
