Folks, I'm working a bit blind because I haven't been able to find my Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards for several months.
What's the proper orientation of the tailpipe clamp to the frame? See attached. Thanks.

There were 2 types - https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/p...3944&cat=41736
The image above looks like a repop clamp that is not the correct shape. The ad shows them in their proper orientation with the nut on the bottom of the frame. |

You only need to tighten the bolt until the ends of the clap just touch and cheek that you can still move the pipe. If it doesn't move, loosen the bolt until it does. Calling it a clamp can be misleading, calling it a support is a better description of what it does.
