Default Where are numbers stamped on a 32 36 transmission

The transmission I found has no vin number on it or anywhere else are numbers that I can tell. The owner said he believes it is either a 32 or up to a 36. The car it is in is a 32.

It could be a service part. No numbers on those. I have two NOS cases and neither has a number.

'32 has a unique top casting to mount the parking brake handle assembly to.

Top covers interchange up to 36, only 32 is unique. Whats the number cast on the back of the case?

The Model B transmission has no number on it. The number will be on the flywheel housing.

How about posting some pictures... there seems to be not enough clarification about shifter tops, and "numbers". The 32 year only has casting bosses in the shifter top for emergency brake, and yes other years had the emergency brake "mounted" to the shifter tip via a bracket. I regards the the numbers cas3 was asking for, they are at the bottom and would help determine the era of build. 18- or 48- or 78-7006 will be cast into case right below the lower cluster shaft. Is the shifter tower straight up and down, or at an angle?
