Default A big shout out to Dave Mellor NJ

Just want to thank Dave for finding and posting all the great vintage photos of A’s. You have added so much to this forum IMHO.
And a thank you to Mercman From Oz for enlarging them so well

thanks guys. it really stirs up discussion which makes it worthwhile. In the beginning I got some negative comments and I stopped for a while but it's been all good, I've also been posting on the early V8s and on AACA forums if you didn't know

Hi Dave (and Mercman),
I really enjoy the pictures too, also the enlarged ones from Mercman. I appreciate the effort to find them, more so to take the time to post them. My son-in-law is a fisherman, and his favorite personal ad is "Want to meet: woman with boat. Please send pictures, OF BOAT." Sometimes I think of the stories of all the persons (girls, to be politically incorrect) in your work.
"Wanted to meet: woman with Model A Ford. Please send pictures, of Ford." That would probably work, but what you do is perfect. Thanks, keep it up!

I think every one of those photos has generated a series of comments, experiences and knowledge we wouldn't get other wise. Well done, guys.

I also like to see the photos from olden times...

But, may i suggest that they go into one thread, not a new thread for every photo? At the moment every second new thread is a photothread and technical threads may get submerged...

TIC…
Agreed wholeheartedly. Or maybe just pics have its own classification…not in forums!! Other than pushing the threads down and clutter….doesn’t affect me as I’ve never looked at one of them…not my bag!

Agree. Wanted to say same thing but I'm a noob here so let it go. The pics are nice but too many threads. Put all in single thread. Too many individual threads.

Wholeheartedly agree. Much like Gary’s stories are in one thread the photos should be in one thread so those who are interested can follow the thread. All these single posts are cluttering up this forum which should be for technical discussions.

I post on AACA. I like exposure and discussion so I used to post on General Discussion, the most widely read forum.. Sometimes the administrator moves them to other locations and i lose them or to remote forums that nobody watches so now I just put them on Period pictures but people rarely comment, I think they should leave these pics on the main forum

I do like a new thread for each. bandwidth, aside! As such, I am sure to catch most of them. I do like them a lot! caught glimpses of moments in time, decades ago! I prob would miss most of Dave's swell fotos if just in Today's Posts. Then I would have to do Today's Posts... I often just do New Posts.

Thanks Dave!
