Default MAFCA's 55 Year Pin ????

Why is Paul Schinn giving a 55 year pin for continuous MAFCA membership to Bob Guimarin on MAFCA's Facebook page ??

I inquired about my 55 year pin (Nov-Dec 1969) and was told "O No , we only give out 60 year pins" by the office staff at MAFCA.

Time to rethink that subscription. Jim Brand

Time to call the office again or reach out to Jay McCord. Sometimes people don't know or things change.

Paul Shinn or the MAFCA office (both of whom appreciate you) are your best bet. Fordbarn can't answer this.

The office blew off my loyal 56 years of membership and as Mr. Schinn is the 'new face' of MAFCA maybe he can accept some of the responsibility of his position.

Jim,
Please give Brenda or Sandra a call. Those 50 and 55 year pins are so rare, they are made to order. I’ll be sure and check for you too!

Thanks for your long term support!

Ed Tolman
2025 MAFCA President

Paul seems like a reasonable fellow to me, I can’t see him doing something knowing it could cause such a stink on purpose. I’d reach out to him and I’d bet there’s a remedy.

The MAFCA President and Office Manager have reached out to Jim. What was the outcome, Jim?

I'll never live long enough to get that pin. I did get a 25 year pin and I can truly say it is unimpressive,

His position is Technical Director - I think he's performing above and beyond in that position.

Yes Paul, Thru Mr. Tolman and the gracious ladies at the MAFCA office, we have a tentative solution.

I accept the cost of creating these 55 plus year pins for such a limited group, BUT MAFCA today is from that group's loyal support in the previous years.
I once boasted about having a 50 year pin in front of a gentleman who promptly showed me his 65 year pin!

Thanks, jb

The Pres responded at 1am on a Sunday morning that each pin is made to order and he'll check. You want an outcome report before 10am on Monday.
C'mon guys the Board are volunteers with day jobs. Nowhere do I see in the benefits of membership where I'll have my ego stroked by getting a longevity pin. They should also be limited to 25 and 50 year - maybe 60 &75 but those would be so rare they could be plaques.

Benefits of MAFCA Membership:

  • The Restorer Magazine (bimonthly)
  • National Tours
  • National Meets
  • 3 Free Classified Ads per year
  • National Banquets
  • Chapters in your local area
  • Model A Technical Support
  • Flying Quail Bi-Monthly email newsletter
