Default Installation Vacuum Wiper Motor 34 5 Window Coupe

How is the original vacuum motor installed in the roof header panel on a 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe.

Much like the 32. Remove the header. Put the wiper shaft thru the hole in the roof above windshield. Square it up and tighten the retainer nut. Probabaly has an angled spacer before the nut. Hook up vac hose install the header.

The 33,34 closed car wiper motor has 2 locating pins. One on each side of the bowl. They each go into a hole on the windshield header and the bowl is in the down position.I suggest you slip a sleeve -rubber or whatever over those pins otherwise it will rattle when wiper is activated.

Note: Over the shaft next to the motor above photo is a spacer. Without the spacer the nut ( special thread) on the shaft will deform the metal of the outer header. There is a rubber or leather seal on the outside.

Here is that seal that Terry mentioned. Got it at The Ford Store yrs ago.Might be easy enough to make. The cupped washer in the pic on my earlier post won't work with this seal because of the header roof angle.
