There is nothing unusual about this Grille.
It is of an Early Production 1938 Ford Standard before Ford added the full length Chrome Strip to replace the Pin Stripe.
They also added 8 chrome strips to each side of the Grille.
This picture is of an early production 1938 Ford Standard Tudor Sedan.

Thats' a New Zealand photo and would date to early/mid 1938 going by the rego plate.

Yeah, the grille on the '38 Standard was so much more appealing than that on the '38 Deluxe...

Yes we had one just like that Grey my preferred grill .Dad cut it to a pick up we would get it side ways on the gravel coast rd at Tasman sth island ,Smoked like a steam train ,but not short of power ,could be that one .
