Is there supposed to be a spring on the 1931 Slant Windshield adjustable seat handle? I looked through the Judging Standards, but I didn’t see it covered.

Thanks for the part numbers. Would anyone have a picture of how this connects to the springs?

Hmm… My latch looks kind of backwards to this.

The one small spring returns the adjuster handle back toward the Locked position when you release it. You pull up on the handle to get the seat base free, and then the seat slides forward and backward. After releasing the handle, nudge the seat forward or backward a bit to get it to drop in the next notch.
The second big spring pulls the seat base forward when the latch is released. Before you install the big spring, lubricate the track sliders well and slide the seat base repeatedly forward and back to work the oil in and loosen up the tracks. The big spring attaches in the front to the same bracket at the latch mechanism, which is screwed to the floor of the car. There is a small hole in the bracket on the passenger side. The rear of the big spring attaches to a hole in the seat base along the back. You will want to have the seat base forward when connecting it. Then when you are sitting in the seat, release the handle and push with your feet to move the seat back. The spring will bring it forward. I hope that helps. I don't have a picture handy. If you are tall (have long legs) the seat latch mechanism that screws to the floor can be moved back about 4" by putting 2 screws in the front bracket holes into the 2 rear holes in the floor. (Put the 2 unused screws in the front holes in the floor for safe keeping.) This really helps with legroom. Do it before installing the big spring.

Does anyone have pictures of the springs, especially the one that helps pull the seat back into place? I don’t recognize any mount points.

I have circled the 2 holes that the big spring goes into in your photos below.

These pictures should help you determine the locations of the springs.
