Default Can't imagine why the headlights don't work...

I have a new wiring harness, so I hope to sort this out this weekend.

Looks like you are on the right track getting a new harness!

Hopefully the 'color coding' is very clear. My 55-year-old wires are a bit faded....

I see we had the same electrician. I've patched mine up and it's working. I've got a new harness on the shelf and next time something happens it goes in.

Looks OK to me. Check the bulbs.

Heck, why spend the money on new wiring, A little more electrical tape and you will be fine.

My ‘30 had what I believe to be the original wiring harness. When I was messing around to get it running prior to disassembling for resto, I must have used five feet of shrink insulation and another ten feet of electrical tape to keep the frayed wires safe. Needless to say, a new harness goes in during reassembly.
