Default Need help with my spare tire mount

Hello all,
I posted a week or so ago about wanting to add the spare tire to my’41 truck. I have a new reproduction bed so I don’t have the bed mount. I also learned that I have running boards that will accept the earlier style mount. I have searched several on line vendors and can’t find anyone that sells either style. Joes antique auto was closed last week but he didn’t have anything in his catalog. I was going to call him this week and see if he could help me. I would prefer to go with the running board mount since I have the bracket on the frame and the hole in the board. I saw a couple of very rough used ones for sale on eBay but I’m not exactly sure what I’m looking for. Does anyone have a photo of the running board mount style and the other pieces that I would need to go with it. TIA, Randy

You will also need a R.H. rear fender with the "dent" in it for a runningboard mount...-RG

Didn't Kube post a picture of the running board mount in your other post?

Hey Bob he did. That was the one that mounted to the bed. I have the running board and frame mount that will accept the earlier style. I would like to find that one in the event that I want to remove it and not run the spare it’s not mounted to my bed.

If your thinking about this style note that the bracket bolts to the running board as well as a brace that bolts to the side of the bed.

The locking cover is optional.

I’ve seen this style in a photo Pete and I found a very poor looking one that’s in the second photo on eBay. The photo of the style that’s in the first picture is the one that I would like to find.
You know it would not be too hard to make one like the first photo. Well I don’t have the facilities to just saying.

Kube any idea where I could find a mount like this? I’ve called around and all I can find is the bedside mount.

I'd never seen one for sale so I wouldn't hold your breath.
I was thrilled to have had that one for my restoration.
