Default 1940 Ford Gas Cap
Greetings

Appreciate any advice on vented gas cap for my 40 . I was told I needed a vented cap, which I don't currently have. What do the experts sauy

i would recommend a locking cap i have a bob drake on mine

Napa Auto Parts sells a vented cap for the early Fords as do most of the V-8 parts vendors. I'm not sure about the new locking caps but the older ones would spill gas onto the fender from the key hole if you filled the tank too full.

Here is a repo vented cap that looks like the original.Maybe other vendors have them.You can reference the part number shown

Dale: I have 2-3 original Ford vented gas caps that are correct for your 40. All dings removed and polished up nicely. PM me.
