Hi my name is stan white, I lost my best friend last saturday her name was Carolyn. I know a lot of guys say that is the problem with the Barn as we are all getl older and pass away. I agree it is true I guess you could say thats life. But it is way more to it than that. I am 83 and my wife was 73 we were together for 24 years. She was my best friend. I can not beleave that she is gone. Its hard to continue but you know that is what she would want you to do. I hope that I can do that, right now I am not able to do that. But I am going to try. Some of you might know me, I am the guy with the 34 3WDW have had it for 35 years started to work on it a year ago. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF HELP FROM THE GUYS ON THE barn. Anyway thanks alot for the help. The bottom line is that life is precious and even though you think you are good to go. As Carolyn and I thought about our selves sometimes its not, Stan

I am very sorry to hear this, Stan. I can understand what you are going through, as I lost my companion of 38 years three years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her.
I have found that having a project in progress is a good thing at a time like this. Perhaps that will serve you well, too. |

Oh Stan ....I can't begin to imagine your feelings. I DO know that you must feel lost, and the sadness must be rough. Many of us here wishing for your sadness to diminish, and for the wonderful memories you must have with Carolyn to flourish. At the least, God afforded you the opportunity to share many wonderful years with a wonderful woman. She will ALWAYS remain very close to your heart. DD . |

Stan, I understand your grief and hope you can be consoled through God, your wife's wishes and your strength. I know she will always be close to you in your heart and memory's.
I lost my wife, Jan 6th of '17. I waited a very long time to get my wife and best friend, we only had 17 years together and they were the best of my life. Now almost 5 years later, it still hurts, very much but, at least she's not in pain any more. All my best to you. Work on that '34 ![]() Frank

Hey Stan, first of all a big THANKS for sharing your very personal story . . . I'm sure it was not easy to write. But, I do believe that sharing the stories of your life with your best friend and wife is part of healing.
Take time every day to remember all the good, share it, laugh at it, know that she's always there with you and rejoice in all your experiences. Time will provide new perspectives and healing will get done! Stay active, keep working on your various projects and don't slow down (and don't stop eating good food). Create new experiences, do things you've not found time or energy to do - challenge yourself in new ways. Bring some vibrancy to your life. We're here for yah! |

I know I lost my wife of 47 years a month and half ago.Went to a car show last Sat and last night went up to Summit cruise with some high school friends and prior workers .That helps but don't repair her going with me to these things.Time will get a little better but never the same.We will get by this
