Default Grounding the gas gauge sending unit, 36 coupe

Today I noticed a black and yellow wire dangling out from under the rear of the car. I opened the inspection cover for the fuel gauge sending unit and discovered it was the ground, but can't find where it was attached. I know it can go anywhere to the frame but was wondering if anyone knew the "correct" place for it to attach. Thanks!

Asking in the *Early* forum should get you a better answer.

(obvious hint) Look carefully for a spot within the length of the dangling wire.
Depending on how the car body mounts to the frame (rubber isolator blocks?) and where the Ground battery cable attaches (to the body? or the frame?) fastening the loose sending unit wire to the body could be the more likely solution.
