Default Ford's Routunda fire...what year?

Does anyone know just when the Routunda fire, which housed some of Ford's archives, happened? Found it...November 9, 1962.

Thanks.

You are correct, shortly after 1:00 PM a fire began on the roof of the Rotunda. The fire started when workers were waterproofing the building in preparation for the year's Winter Spectacular. Saved during the fire were the Ford Archives which survived due to a special Carbon dioxide fire protection system.

Unforntatly not all of the Ford archives were saved...had they been, we could of figured out just where all of the engines went after being stamped, to what assembly plant and what body style was mated to the engine number. According to DeAngles, those log books were all destoyed!

If anyone remembers these "log books"...it sure would be great to know about them.

I wonder if the Ford Archives has a list of known items that were lost in the fire?
