Hi gim,
1. Per your reply #6: "so it creates too much compression" 2. Per your reply #9: "tried hand crank, it feels heavy when compression builds up" Could it be possible that: A. After you ran the engine, the rings got seated and broken in, "comme apres faire le rodage"; and/or, B. You may have one of those vintage European higher compression heads Mr. Vince Falter mentioned on his site, like up to 7:1 or 8:1, creating higher compression, combined with something else. If someone wins this interesting Bingo game, rather than one of us receiving a cookie, it appears it would be most fitting for "all" of us to send cookies to Mr. gymlegule for enduring these problems.
