What do you folks recommend as a spray adhesive to glue the top bow drill material to the cardboard fillers. I tried a spray contact cement but it bled through

I just used this Elmer's Spray that my wife had used on some sewing projects and it worked fine for me , seemed to hold pretty good .

My neighbor just had the sagging headliner in his 2003 Buick replaced, and the woman used 3M Super Adhesive #77. She used a wire brush to remove all the old foam from the headliner form, then sprayed both surfaces and let it set up for a few minutes, then pressed them together. I think that is the same spray I saw Elizabeth use when she installed a Model A headliner.

Hey Pinesdune, do you live at Grandbend? If so we've spoke at different flea markets.
As to gluing, I've only glued on the back side of the panels. Gluing the excess material on the hidden side of the panel. Yes allowing time for the glue to "set-up". By gluing only the back of the panel, you can remove any wrinkles that may occur now or in the future. Hope this helps. Jeff Last edited by JDupuis; 01-08-2017 at 10:21 AM. JDupuis, I live near Neepawa, you may be thinking of someone else, but I have met a few folks at swap meets, were you at the swap at the Ex last spring or the one beside the Winnipeg auto museum the beginning of August? I did try just glueing a panel on the back lip but when formed to the shape of my roof, the material sags bad and needs to be adhered completely to the panels face. Thank you guys, I'll post pics when she's done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I use 77 for light applications but I recommend 3 m super 90 it is for high strength application I have had failures with the 77 but never the 90.

Sorry Pinesdune; you and I have never met then. Have never gotten over that direction. I guess I was mistaking you with some other incredably handsome fello, alot like myself. All the best. Jeff
