Default Multiple Disk Clutch

What size is the clutch shaft nut ? I removed the cotter pin and soaked with PB Blaster and tried tapping it off with a drift but it won't budge . It looks like it was beat on in the past ? I'll need a deep socket so a trip to town is in order .

I got it off heat PB Blaster and a drift . 1" 1/4 deep well is what's needed when not all beat up .

I've taken a few beat up nuts and threaded them onto a bolt, then used a punch and ball peen hammer to pound the metal back into place. They will never look like new, but will be servicable and fit the socket.

I have some of the multiple disk clutch nuts - 7/8-14 (9/16 x 1-1/4) castle nut - $5.00 each + shipping. They are NOS and are also used for AA spare wheel carrier (30/31 side mount and fender mount style.

That is an interesting note Neil, I had not thought that nut would be used in another application. Had I known I would'nt have spent the time refurbishing the old clutch nuts I had for my 28 coupe. It seems every clutch pack I could get my hands on had the nut butchered by someone with a cold chisel and a BFH. I did as Tom, and reshaped and filed til useful.
