Default Front radius rod felt block installation

I am wondering if the felt block is " trapped" under the pin that keeps the radius rod mount bolts from turning, or does the pin stick through the pad?
Also, the replacement pad I have seems quite wide, at 2 3/4 inches, to fit between the bolts.
I am sure, as usual, I am over thinking this!

Thank you very much. That one picture answers my question. The felt block I have is, at least, two times too thick. I wish it was always that easy

Is there a way to get to the felt pad without taking out the tranny?

Drop the front radius rod from the bottom of the clutch housing assembly, then remove the other items...there you will see a hole for which the felt pad can be removed. Install new pad and reassemble.

I cut the back of the felt pad into a circle while leaving the top as a rectangle and just thick enough to put pressure on the pin. The circle slides into the hole.

Doing it all from the outside, and after a radius rod bolt/retainer pin replacement likewise done from outside.

I simply cut the felt into a hockey puck or plug to fit the hole. Placed the felt in the hole and the cast iron rubber ball carrier put on, pushing the felt into the pin.

Yes, there's a little less felt to soak up the dripage - but I reasoned that even a full block of felt would in a short time be to the same condition - mine just a little faster.
