Default Can someone recommend a car carrier

I need a car brought from CA to Illinois. I would like an enclosed carrier. Ones I've looked up, when you read their reviews some are good and some are bad. Thanks

I've always been able to put a 6 figure 32 Ford on a Reliable truck and when it reached the destination it was just like when it was loaded. My last inbound delivery was handled by a really nice couple who said they had been with Reliable for 25+ years. He said they'd worn several trailers but they were still driving the same tractor they'd started with in the early 90's. Takes it in for a complete mechanical and cosmetic update every year while they take a month off. It looked like new inside and out. Says something about the Reliable people caring.

Thanks everyone. I will call reliable Monday. Only thing is the reviews are half bad and half good. But that seems to be the way of everyone I looked up except intercitylines. Jay Leno recommends them so it is probably to costly.

Only problem I've had with Reliable is getting them to come to my small town in southern Nebraska. I've offered to meet them which has worked because they travel I80 regularly. I tried inter city lines but couldn't put something together. On thing you have to remember about celebrity endorsements is they may be getting compensated.

Intercity moved six cars across the country for me and then twice about 1000 miles and their performance was absolutely perfect all times.

From what I’ve heard beware of Reliable. You have to pay them in full up front before your car is even picked up, a huge red flag in my book. They promise 30 days and string you along past that where you can’t get a refund.

I agree about the financial side of Reliable although any other company I've used got full payment before they picked up the car. My comments were directed at the fact that they took very good care of my cars. I've tried intercity several times but can't make a connection because of my location. Contracting a car hauler was much easier 20+ years ago. Logistics is more of a problem today, there are some drawbacks to living in small town Nebraska but I've done it for 80 years. There are also some small private single car carriers but I know nothing about them.

Reliable or Passport. I'd used Passport 98% of the time. Each and every time a flawless experience. I have used Reliable a few times and they too have been great with one exception.

Talked to reliable and they want all money up front. Passport wants payment when car is deliver. What is the incentive for delivering car if you have the money already. I'm going with passport.

I don't mind, .66 per mile,, if I did the math right. Cost (within reason) is not the problem. It's someone who will be up front about taking care of car, delivery time, answering the phone when I call, no lies and so on.

Reliable's name, size and reputation doesn't get to where they are by "NOT" delivering automobiles. Especially when that is the whole business...delivering automobiles!!!! Just go to Pebble Beach Concourse in August and the Polo grounds......just about 3/4 of the truck lot is Reliable Transport. Just sayin

There in lies the difference Sir,

I am 3 times+ higher per loaded mile, but you get single car personalized service from someone who is a lifelong car guy who currently has 13 collector cars & knows how to take care of them. I am not an employee of a big company. I am available by phone everyday & all along the trip! I work with you to deliver to your door at a time agreed to ahead of time for a cash on delivery price also agreed upon ahead of time.

Unfortunately I am booked well in advance all year round & currently have 3 coast to coast round trips on my schedule already. Reliable is about the best when it comes to big carriers & I know a couple of their drivers personally. I see them at the big concourse events (along with guys from Passport & Intercity) when I transport to them.

Best of Luck
God Bless

Bill is booked up for a year so no need to call him. Again I think I will go with passport who requires no money up front. The guys on the corvette forum like inter city. Called them and he said they are not schedule for CA for awhile.
