Ok I have taken my column shifter off my 55 Ford ( 3 speed manual ) and purchased an old school NOS Mr. Gasket Daytona floor shifter, with no instructions. I can figure out install but want to be careful when cutting whole in floor with new carpet.
I was wondering if anyone has instructions for a Mr. Gasket #7656 that shows a template for the floor opening ? Thanks |

![]() I would contact MR.GASKET (if still around) and ask if the INSTRUCTION SHEET is still available. https://www.holley.com/brands/mr_gasket/ Do you have a KIT PN? 3/S or OD? Last edited by KULTULZ; 01-31-2025 at 01:50 PM. Reason: ADD INFO |

This should be a help to you - https://www.hotrodreverend.com/post/...n-blog-part-10
If you can find a template from Hurst or Mr. Gasket for the actual make and model of your specific car I would love to see that. I never knew something like that existed.

![]() ... and ... ![]() Did the shifter kit come with a boot kit? If not, you need to match the cut-out to fit the boot also. |

Thanks for the help, I'm finding out that the older kits didn't have a template.
Miker98038 I think your right, I'm going with the little steps many cuts idea. Thanks to all !! |

I remember that sometimes a boot came with them, but might be bigger or smaller than actually needed. Most of those kits were more universal than model specific. That didn’t change until maybe the mid 60’s. Then popular new models (Camaro, Mustang,GTO, etc.) would get kits that really fit. |
