I have a decent 40 Ford Tudor Deluxe. Had it for almost 40 years. Decided to sell. Interesting coments , Why,How Come. What wrong with it? Nothing the time has come.(77)
(have to stop looking in the mirror) Car is a Preservation not a Restoration. Drive the shit out of it.what ever falls of gets fixed or replaced. Last trip to the Newport Hill Climb, Oct 2025. 500 miles round trip. Lousy gas milage . Few quarts of oil but no problems. So who cares. If you want a car that drives like a new car DONT BUY MINE, If you want a car that requires participation and a lot of fun, I have a car for you. So much for the rant of the day. Keep it under 90 75 on the curves Roger |

Roger,
Well at least your car drives and it doesn’t look like a jigsaw puzzle, like mine. I looked in the Swap Meet section, but didn’t find a posting. Take some glamor shots and post an ad; I am sure you will find the next caretaker. I am going to have to go to that hill climb sometime, it’s sounds like a good time. Take care, Zeke |

I'd stress the time machine ability of your car. To run in an event that doesn't happen for 8 months is pretty unique. Just pulling your timing chain. The internet is full of tire kickers and looky lou's . I don't negotiate over the phone, come look at it, drive it and then we'll talk. It's your car, sell it as you want.
The 42 Mercury I just acquired was from an 85 year old that had been around the black many times. Every trick I tried to get the price down, he had a counter offer for. Pretty sharp dude and I respected him for his ability. Ended up being a "win/win" as your sale should also be. Best of luck with it. Sounds like a great moonshine runner. |

You might not be ready to sell.
It's not an easy thing to sell a car you've enjoyed for so long. I sold my last old Ford last Fall and still regret it. But, as you said, it was time. I had a lot of tire kickers and they can say the darndest things! Good luck to you! |

Maybe if you showed a more current picture instead of when it was wrecked in front of the Pink Pony!

May be worth talking to the Early Ford V8 foundation Museum in Auburn, Indiana. Last I knew they have a dealer's license and take cars on consignment. Phone number is 260-927-8022.

My 8yr old grandson loves my car, asks for a ride when he comes to visit, he’ll probably end up with it when the time comes for me to pass it on. Out of 11 grandkids he’s the only one that has shown interest.

I have had great success using We Be Autos.com. Mike is a great guy to work with and they handle all the offers and paperwork. Worth looking into. Chap

I looked a couple times but still have not seen a for sale ad for your 40 ford. It seems that just posting some pics of it in this thread might help your cause, but really an actual ad is the prefered method. Are you familiar with posting photos on fordbarn? For me I'm just curious to see this as I enjoy 'driver' quality cars.

I recommend you use the Early Ford V8 Club Classified Ad website > https://www.earlyfordv8.org/classifi...&c=Automobiles
It's free! I sold my three Fords using that site, and it didn't cost me a dime. It didn't take long for the cars to sell by using that site... |
