Default 59A rearmain cap and seal / case

I found this delicate case !

I has a 59A block but the caps was missing, but found this rear cap and it lined up good actually in both diameter and trust surfaces on both sides.
The idea was billet front and mid caps.
Then I should use a Merc 4" crank in that block.

The rear seal retainer was missing so I bought this new and numbers are ;
91A6335 & 19B6336.
They line up Ok and I do think it would fit a Merc crank, se picture.
Anyway I told that to the seller of the retainers on the Merc crank.
No idea on seal OD vs this 59A cap/retainer vs the crank.

Now I has another 59A block but rear cap has another design.
Its has the groove direct in the cap (?)
If I install the upper retainer ( in block ) it fits Ok, but when install the cap on inside, the groove seems Ok, but it look odd and not equal ( se pictures )
One side is off so caps seems machined wrong.
-Whats going on here ?

Its the std rear cap to that block as see the machined 'grooves'.

No info on this but I guess some 59A block had this rear cap with no retainer in.
I has not seen to many blocks but this is first with this rear cap design.
