Default Lift a dot fasteners

Hello all,
I'm currently mapping out templates for side curtains for my Roadster. I noticed i only have 3 fasteners instead of 5 on each side of the windshield. So my question is, does anyone have tips on adding the 2 lower ones on each side like those circled on the Blue Roadster I have a picture of?

You will have to drill holes and tap them to match the single lift-a-dot stud. If you have a set of side curtains, you could use them to mark the locations.

Mine has these studs in place but they are very loose. They pull out just enough to droop. They don’t seem to be threaded, or maybe the threads are corrupted. Any suggestions? Any way to get behind them?

David, we got two different thing going on here. Could you possibly use a 10-32 rivet-nut to repair your striped threads in your sanctions. They work great in a blind situation where you can't get a nut on the back.

I don't know if these are available in the 10-32 size, but repairing thread with heli-coil might also be an option if the stanchion is stripped. If you're luck, it's the lift a dot posts that just need replacing. Remove the old ones and see what's going on with the threads.

Hello, the stanctions are hollow to fit over the mounts on cowl, not sure if the lift a dot studs would be long enough to put nuts from the inside on them and then be able to fit back on cowl metal the studs fit on is about 3/16 thick .

Thank you guys. I was researching how to remove the lower stanchions to see if I needed to buy the wood screw or machine screw style fasteners. Snyder's had exactly what I was looking for. EMF you are correct, I will need to drill and tap. Finger's crossed I can do this without the paint lifting.

Here is exactly what I was looking for in case someone down the road runs into this question as well.

Before you drill, put painter's tape on the spot. It may help keep the paint from chipping.

I will try to remove the posts and see what’s going on. Thanks!
