Ourfriend old red neck took his 32 ford to the new york meet, got a dearborn emeratus award; came home and took a tunble down the basement stairs, broke his colar bone, little finger, cracked his ankle, had some blood on his brain, now checking his knee, talked with him yesterday, will be in the hospital for about a week, then therapy, said he is doing pretty good; keep him in your prayers...thanks

Sorry to hear this. At my age, falling is probably my greatest worry. I moved to a seniors apartment complex where the biggest step is from the parking lot to the sidewalk (3", plus, there's ramp for that). I also added a second handrail to the stairs to the mezzanine in my shop.
Best wishes for his quick recovery. |

Saw him at the Clayton meet he looked great. I'm sorry to hear he fell. When we get older we've got to be careful with stairs, curbs, and every other darn thing. I hope he recovers soon.

Correct about stairs. We have to be force our thinking to watch where we are going. After my parents lived with us their final 3 years (in their 90s) my wife said were aren't doing that to our kids. This was when I was mid 60's. She wanted us to move to a senior community that starts with independent living and ends with memory care, if needed. At that time I could not wrap my head around that. Still have old car projects in the garage. Now at 71, I agreed that we could do it when I turn 80. We visited 1 place and it was actually very nice. Can't keep driving these old cars forever and better to get them to someone who appreciates them than to let the kids deal with it. I can still keep 1 car and my son has already stated he wants the 52 Ford.

Geez OL REDNECK take it easy, if you aren't careful, you could hurt yourself. I just got out of a place like that. They don't like us too much. They stick tubes everywhere they can, put you on a cart & run you thru a huge tunnel. My prayers are with you. They want me to go in hospices never thought that I would end up this way. Take care my friend & will see you at the big show. Burn Out Bob

Best wishes Red Neck. I loved our chats at the eV-8 national in Fairfax, VA.
Most of my trains are gone and son has the 40 Merc. I Sandy and I have moved into Ashby Ponds, a 2000+ family living center. in Va. VC ev-8 Judge Cliff and Sandra Green are here as well. We're still talking cars. We love it here!! Stay strong, Clem |

Just chatted with Redneck for a while. He is still in the hospital but in really good spirits. Wishing him the best for a full recovery.
He said he already has received parts to correct some things the judges found wrong with his beautiful '32 3 Window in Clayton. Ken is not a quitter! Ken

This picture is not Ken. This 32 Ford photo was contributed by B-O-B. Ken, we wish you a speedy recovery after your fall. Last edited by mercman from oz; 10-03-2024 at 03:00 AM. Reason: Changed Description |
