I have been told I could have and engine that had been modified back in the 60's. I'm told it has a pressurized oil system. but the interesting thing is it has a B head on it. ( four stud water pump). I don't know if I want to mess with the engine assembly or if the head is worth anything. Thoughts.
I will try to get a picture of it soon |

I am currently running one of those heads, love it. What it is worth depends on condition. Look at the recess over the piston to get a rough idea how many times it has been milled. Does it have cracks? Put your general location in your profile a that would effect desirability.

The "B" head is a Police Head.
You can get the full information in Vince Falter's website https://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ABc...comparison.htm |

I recently sold one (like three weeks ago) that was planed, painted and ready to go on the car and the most i could get was $110. Lot's of lookie lou's but only one guy pulled out his wallet. About 5 years ago i had several and i was selling them in the $400-$500 range. But the market is changing.

I have a police head on my coupe and it performs well. If I were building another engine I would use a police head if I had one on hand; but I would not go looking for one. If I did not have one I would simply use a new 5.5 or 6.0 high compression head from Snyder’s. So I don’t think it has a great value unless ready to install; and even then the value is less than a new Snyder’s head.
I believe Wick is spot on with his estimates. W. Michael |

Figure if it has a Crack, your going to spend $200.00 before it can be used.
I found that out on a old speed head. |
