Default 28 Starter Brush Holders

I have a 28 starter with a 1/2" shaft. I had a broken spring that holds the brush down in the starter. The slot that the flat spring fits into, on the backing plate, is pot metal and part of the brush holder.

One of the slots broke when I was prying out the old spring. I ordered a new brush holder from Berts but this one is metal and has rivets rather than screws that hold it to the backing plate.

Has anyone seen this type of brush holder and might have one I could purchase?

I ordered new brushes and they are different also.

The brushes and brush holder I see on Bert's site say
for 5/8"shaft starter.

I would have to ask if this old model A still has a multi plate clutch with an Able type starter drive? If it has the late type clutch & trans then it may be easier to replace the starter with the late type and use a bendix starter drive. The old starters and Able drives are getting hard to find.
