I think Bill Underwood and I each made a set for customer's cars we were working on. Also, not sure but maybe Gordon Johnson told me he had a set made for his car??

From my perspective and experience, the major issue with these is it is easy to have 25-30+ hours in making correct shaped tooling ...and then the rest of that time in making these accurately. In real-world money, that is between $2k - $3k for a set. Most hobbyists are unwilling to pay that price, -and so most craftsmen choose to do it once to prove to themselves that they can do it and then have no desire to do it again unless the ROI is there for them, ...which at that point re-read the first portion of this sentence.

![]() What many people do not realize is how this panel has a compound curve in each side of the 90° because it must conform to the back corner of the body which curves inward from the top to bottom both at the side of the body and from the backside of the body, -AND it must also make the radius within the 90° transition. |
