The original rear spring on my 3 window has lost its arch , what is the best solution , purchase a new one i.e. Posies or a used one .

Are you doing a restoration or street rod? I think Posies have a teflon button on the end of the leaf. I don't know if they make a stock one. Can a spring shop rearch yours?

A good spring shop should be able to handle it - but you need to check with them and see if they can handle curved springs. As a side not, am looking into this very issue in Columbus this week - as I have a friend who needs to re-arch his rear spring and reverse the eyes (to lower the car). We're going to find out if the local spring shop can actually do this (they say they can) - will report back . . .

Remember to tell the spring shop the spring has a curve to clear the rear end when viewed from the top. You might also try a wanted ad, either for a complete rebuilt spring or for individual leafs if you have yours rebuilt.

It's possible that a PM to "DavidG" might get you a reasonable and reliable suggestion for a source. I'd almost bet that Michael Driskell at 3rg Gen Automotive could also get you close. DD |

If neither of those pan out, you could ten check with Fred at SouthSide Obsolete. He is "barnfind08" on this forum and has a lot of NOS stuff.

If you decide to buy a new spring, check out Eaton Spring on the internet, They have leaf springs for just about anything.
Be sure to specify the number of leaves.

I am not sure if you want to try to rearch it yourself, it is not all that hard but does involve time & a bit dangerous. I did mine on the 34 but different spring. I made this press & with a bottle jack ,a piece of cake to reverse the ends to reverse the eyes.
