I have a 42-47 pickup frame and I'm trying to bolt the steering box up to the frame. I have tried both 3/8 and 7/16 coarse and fine bolts but nothing wants to thread in. I just need to know what size the thread is so i can re-tap the holes.

Are they different than the normal car fitment. or 41 pickup? They just have 3/8 clearance holes with no threads and use a nut and bolt.
Could yours have been modified? Is it the original box? Hang on, are they push pull? I'm not too familiar with those years of pickups. Mart. |

The two holes in the frame have a nut welded inside to catch the bolt. Then there is a single hole below the frame which is a through hole. Since the nuts are inside the frame it is difficult to get a look at the threads.
Push / pull?
