Quick question re valve springs.
Hello!
Just a quickie. If you have a valve spring with closely wound coils at one end only, should the end with the tightly wound coils go towards the guide, or the keeper?? Or does it not matter which way around they are fitted? Thanks in advance. Mart. |

Mart the closely wound end of the spring goes towards the retainer/ keeper end.

The tight wrapped coils go on the guide, or another description, against the block, or up.

I've always put the close would end to the guide. Less mass of the spring to control.

Yes, the tight wound end goes up against the guide.
