Default 30–31 oil pan color?
Are the oil pans supposed to be engine color or black?

Black is correct . I use to paint them gloss black . I now use semi gloss .

OK black they are!

That would leave me to believe that the engines were not painted as 1 unit from the factory. The blocks were painted then they must of added the oil pan on.

Everything was painted individually after machining and before being assembled. That is why none of the fasteners are painted.

I have always painted cast iron engine parts green, sheet metal parts black.
