you can install a 6V Optima in a Ford V8 case. they are 1" longer than a Model A case.
I did try to figure out a way of doing just that. but failed. it would pretty neat if someone comes up with a way. |

I made my own battery tie down out of aluminum stock . I put the battery on an angle connected it to the hold down screws also used the model a square hold down . Works great.

Why spend that much for just a battery. Optima sure has good marketing.

Mine is set in the tray at an angle, corner to corner, and locked in place with a frame on top.

i'm using a bungee...like those golf pants with spandex around the waist. tight enough to do the job, but gives you a little wiggle room too.

I have found that my 'A' demands far more frequent access to the battery than any other car I have had. Given that the battery is next to invisible in its original location I simply fabricated a piece of aluminum to act as a securing clamp to press the Optima toward the inboard side of the existing battery bracket. It allowed me to center it on the access panel and makes access to the pole clamps easier.
