Best Gaskets, graphite are available either as a Model A or a different one for Model B.

At one time 'big bore' and 'big valve' gaskets were available. Contact Egge Machine to see if they still are. Also you might need to plug the 4 small holes in the B block??? Plug flush with the deck surface to support the gasket.

Locate the gasket very accurately on the head and see if the fire ring hangs over anywhere.
Then locate the gasket on the block and check for the same. If it hangs out, it won't work. The cure is a different head. If it hangs out on the block, try a different gasket. I have used the standard copper gasket several times with a 4.030 bore race engines. |
