Default how do you remove trunk cyl lock

1938 Ford-How do you remove the trunk cyl lock if you don't have the key>I want to replace with a good one. All info much appreciated. Thanks Mike

I'm sure there are different ways, but mine needed the spring replaced on the lock cover, too. I drilled out the spot welds on the cover on the back to gain access. That opens up the whole area to work. You can replace the cover by welding or sheet metal screws as it is hidden when installed.

I have a 38 also and had to carefully drill my old cylinder out to put in a new lock cylinder...

In the Home Depot parking lot the guys that removed my truck lock used a hammer and a screwdriver.
